E-mail Me Dsgt. John Walker started his law enforcement career in 1975 with the Victory Gardens Police Department. He joined the Mount Olive Police Dept. in August of 1976. During his career he has served in the Patrol Division, Traffic Bureau and Detective Bureau. He has worked in the Detective Bureau since 1984 as an undercover officer as well as case investigation. John has been a Supervisor in the bureau since 1987 and helped to establish the department's Narcotics Unit. He has also worked with the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force as an undercover officer. John has attended training by the DEA in Undercover Investigation and Advanced Diversion Investigation, as well as Basic and Advanced Narcotic Investigation classes with the New Jersey State Police. John has also attended the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area training at John Jay University in New York. During his career Dsgt. Walker has received numerous departmental awards including five Honorable Service, four Exceptional Duty, two Meritorious Service, eleven Grand Cordons, two Life Saving, a Program Development and an Educational Achievement Award. In 1991, Walker was chosen as the "Outstanding Township Employee" by the United Service Clubs of Mount Olive. In 1995, Walker was chosen as "Male Citizen of the Year" by the Musconetcong Lodge No. 151, for his efforts and accomplishments in narcotics enforcement. |
