Sgt. Galop graduated from Hanover Park High School and Frederick Military Academy. He attended Salem College and Rutgers University. Sgt. Galop joined the Mount Olive Twp. Police Dept. in 1978 and was assigned to the Patrol Division. In 1983 he became the department's Traffic Safety Officer and was promoted to Sergeant in 1989. In 1995 Sgt. Galop became the Supervisor of the Support Services Unit which encompasses traffic matters, DARE, Megan's Law, Municipal Court Liaison and other duties. He has successfully completed numerous accident investigation courses at the University of North Florida and Northwestern University. Sgt. Galop is also an instructor in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and a certified Drug Recognition Expert. He has also been an instructor for the department as well as the Morris County Police Academy in areas of DWI, Accident Investigation and motor vehicle law. Throughout his career Sgt. Galop has received departmental awards including Lifesaving, Exceptional Duty, Grand Cordon and two Honorable Service. Sgt. Galop retired in June 2006 after 28 years of dedicated service. |
