Lieutenant Glinko joined the department in 1980 and was assigned as a patrol officer. In 1986 he was promoted to Sergeant and was assigned as Special Operations Unit Commander and Task Force Commander. In 1995 he was promoted to Lieutenant and served as the Patrol Division Commander for nine years. He is currently the Commander of the Support Services Division where he oversees the Traffic Bureau, D.A.R.E. Program, School Resource Office Program, as well as other support functions.

During his career he has received numerous departmental awards including two Medals of Honor, an Exceptional Duty Award for recovering a kidnapped child, Honorable Service Awards, Program Development Awards, Grand Cordons, Educational Achievement Award and the Mt. Olive Police Physical Fitness Award. He has also received the Lions Club Award for Distinguished and Heroic Service. Lt. Glinko holds an A.S. Degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, Northwestern University's Executive Management Program and West Point's Command and Leadership Program.

Since 2004 he has also been a member of the Police Unity Tour, making the 300 mile 4 day bicycle ride each year since joining the organization. The ride from New Jersey to Washington D.C. is made by Police Officers to Honor fellow officers who have been killed in the line of duty and to support their families.
