Yagiello started his career in April 1985 where he served in the Patrol Division until his assignment to the Investigations Division in June of 1986. He served as the department's Juvenile Officer. Some of his training included Child Abuse, Missing Persons, D.A.R.E., Practical Homicide Investigation, Street Gangs and Meghan's Law. During his career Yagiello had received numerous departmental awards including the 1988 Knights of Columbus Shield award, 1995 Morris County Detective's Association Meritorious award, three Exceptional Duty awards, three Grand Cordons, two Honorable Service awards, a Life Saving award, a Program Development award and a Military Service award. Yagiello is a United States Army veteran and served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. Yagiello retired in April 2008.
