Lieutenant Jim Dunn

Lieutenant Jim Dunn started his career with Mount Olive in 1985 as a patrol officer. In 1986 he was assigned to the Morris County Prosecutors Narcotics Task Force before returning to the Mount Olive Narcotics Task Force in 1987. In 2006 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In 2012 he was promoted to Lieutenant and is currently assigned as the Commander of the Investigations Division. Dunn is a classic car enthusiast and is currently assisting his son Jeff with the restoration of a 1971 GTO. With the help of very knowledgeable friends and other classic car enthusiastís this project is near completion.

Dunn has received numerous
departmental awards . Dunn graduated from the high intensity drug trafficking area (HIDA) course as well as the D.E.A. Narcotics Enforcement course. He has received additional training in homicide investigation and is an FBI trained hostage negotiator. Dunn holds an A.S. in Criminal Justice from the County College of Morris. Dunn has also served as a delegate and past president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #122.
