Officer Kluska joined the department in October of 1985 and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division . Kluska has served as a former Public Information Officer. He also prepared numerous grant applications and managed grant programs of more than $2 million. Awarded by both state and federal agencies, these grant programs have aided in the hiring of more than 10 new officers since 1995, initiated the departmentís Community Policing efforts, aided in the purchase of more than 30 new bullet proof vests and are currently providing for a major upgrade to the departmentís information technology resources.
Since 1991 Officer Kluska has served as a primary instructor in the delivery of the departmentís Drug Abuse Resistance Education program. At both the 5th and 7th grade levels, he has brought D.A.R.E. to thousands of the Mount Oliveís youth. He has previously served in roles as Detective, Juvenile Officer, Patrol Officer, C.P.R. Instructor, Neighborhood Watch Coordinator/Liaison and provided programming in Crime Prevention. He also served terms as Secretary and President of the former Mount Olive Township Policemenís Association (now Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #122).
Officer Kluska has received a number of departmental awards , including three Exceptional Duty Awards, two Honorable Service Awards, a Grand Cordon and an Educational Achievement Award. Officer Kluska holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgerís University.
Officer Kluska retired in March 2011 after 25 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Mount Olive Twp.
