After joining the department in July 1989 Pocquat was assigned to the Patrol Division. In 1999 he was assigned to the Detective Bureau until his promotion the following year to Sergeant. He is currently assigned to supervise a patrol squad and serves as an instructor for Physical Training and Firearms. During his career he has received numerous departmental awards including three Honorable Service awards and an Education Achievement award. Pocquat is a former Field Training Officer and served on the department's Special Operations Unit. His training includes Accident Investigation I and II, Fitforce and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Course. He holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice.
