After joining the department in July 1989 Pocquat was assigned to the Patrol Division. In 1999 he was assigned to the Detective Bureau until his promotion the following year to Sergeant. He supervised a road squad up until 2007 when he was assigned to the position of Assistant Patrol Commander. During his career he has received numerous departmental awards and was a recipient of the Knights of Columbus Shield Award. Pocquat is a former Field Training Officer and served on the department's Special Operations Unit. He was one of the first responders to ground zero on 9/11, serves as a Department firearms instructor and is a certified Bicycle Patrol Officer. His training includes Accident Investigation I and II, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Activity (HIDTA) and various supervision and leadership schools. He holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Lycoming College in Pennsylvania.
