After graduating Mount Olive High School in 1986, Sergeant Carlstrom continued his education at County College of Morris and Glassboro State College where he earned a B.A.in Communications. Since joining the department in January 1998, Sergeant Carlstrom has been assigned to the Patrol Division . Carlstrom was promoted to Sergeant in September of 2012 and currently is assigned as the Assistant Patrol Commander. He is a former Field Training Officer, D.A.R.E. Officer, and Physical Training Instructor for the Morris County Police Training Academy. Some of Sergeant Carlstrom's training includes High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), Basic SWAT, and the completion of the NJ State Association of Chiefs of Police Command & Leadership Academy. Awards include the Morris County 200 Club Valor Award, a Program Development Award, a Meritorious Service Award, five Honorable Service Awards, three Grand Cordon Awards, three Physical Fitness Awards, and an Educational Achievement Award.
