Lieutenant Sanchez joined the department in December 1999 and worked in the Patrol Division until January 2005, when he was assigned to the Investigations Division. Sanchez was promoted to Sergeant in September 2012 and to Lieutenant in 2017, where he currently supervises the Investigations Division. Throughout his career he has received numerous departmental awards including the 2007 and the 2011 Meritorious Service Award from the Morris County Detective's Association, two Exceptional Duty Awards, nine Honorable Service Awards, a Grand Cordon, two Physical Fitness Awards, an Educational Achievement Award, and a Program Development Award. Lt. Sanchez is fluent in Spanish and regularly assists as an interpreter for neighboring departments. He also is a certified Drug Recognition Evaluator. Sanchez is a graduate of Centenary College and holds a B.A. in Business.
