Officer Elbaum began his career with the Mount Olive Township Police Department as a Police Dispatcher in February of 2009. He was hired as a Police Officer in July of 2012 and graduated from the Morris County Police Academy's 79th Basic Police Class. Officer Elbaum is a graduate of Kaplan University where he obtained an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. Officer Elbaum's awards include the 2014 and 2015 Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Distinguished Service Award, a Life Saving Award, three Honorable Service Awards, a Program Development Award and an Educational Achievement Award. Officer Elbaum is currently assigned to the Support Services Division and serves as one of the department's Law Enforcement Against Drugs (LEAD) instructors. Elbaum is also a certified Field Training Officer, 911 Telecommunicator and has received specialized training in Emergency Medical Dispatch and CPR. In 2016 Elbaum initiated the "Coffee with a Cop" Program, which was developed to improve trust and build relationships with the community.
