Dave graduated from Newton High School in 1979 and lived in Sussex County most of his life before moving to Mount Olive Township in 2000. He joined the Mount Olive Township Police Department in May of 2001 with an extensive background in law enforcement and communications. He has received national certification in Public Safety Telecommunications from APCO, and is certified as a 911 Operator as well as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher. Dave is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician, a Paramedic Assistant, and has received specialized training in Firefighting, Hazardous Materials response, and Incident Command. He has been a volunteer in Emergency Medical Services for nearly 20 years and was recognized as "EMT of the Year" in 1997. Dave received a "Lifesaving" award in 1985 for his actions in resuscitating the victim of a motorcycle accident with CPR and in 2002 received a second "Lifesaving" award from the Budd Lake First Aid Squad for assisting with the successful resuscitation of a heart attack victim using CPR and Defibrillator. In 2002 Dave was also presented with an "Honorable Service" award by Police Chief Ed Katona for his actions demonstrated within the Mount Olive Police Department. In addition to volunteering as an EMT, Dave enjoys baseball, camping, and auto racing.
